The Lower Bucks Dog Training Club would like to invite you to become a member of our organization. LBDTC is an AKC sanctioned non-profit club. All club members are volunteers who enjoy participating in a variety of activities with their dogs as well as the social aspects of being a club member with dog lovers who have similar interests.
Club Overview
Many members enter their dog(s) in companion events sponsored by AKC or other registries to earn titles, ribbons and certificates. Some members share their dogs with the community through therapy and social visits to senior facilities, schools, and libraries. Our membership also reaches out to the community through bi-annual Pet Food Drives and school sponsored career fairs. Reading to the Dogs is also a popular activity that involves members visiting many community facilities. Still, other members choose not to compete or visit facilities; they keep their dogs active in training programs. Some members join just because they love dogs and want to be with other dog lovers. Volunteering at our yearly Obedience/Rally trials and Agility trials is a favorite activity for all of our members.
Activities
LBDTC sponsors a variety of social activities for its members. In addition to monthly business meetings some events include: an annual picnic, an annual luncheon/awards program and educational guest speakers from the community throughout the year.
Meetings
Club meetings are held at the training center the first Monday of every month and usually run from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The club does not have meetings in July and August. Election of club officers is held every fall. All members are asked to serve on one or more of the club’s various committees and to help at our trials. LBDTC is only as effective as the committees and their volunteer members.
Our Membership Application
To become a member, it is as simple as filling out our membership application and attending three meetings. When you attend the first meeting, bring your application along with you. At the third meeting you attend you will be voted on as a new member. A yearly membership fee of $25.00 or a yearly family membership fee of $40.00 will be paid before attending your next meeting. Should you have any membership questions you can contact us or call the club phone, (215) 493-1201.
New members, suggestions, and ideas are always welcome. Together we can accomplish great things!
